Life Drawing and Observational Skecthes

This blog is dedicated to life drawing and observational quick sketches that I did this year which I draw everyone I went in public like malls, restaurants, theme parks, school, and parties.

Here is my 5 min drawings that I did in my figure drawing class which was my warm up drawings that we start with so I can draw and recognize each shape.

Here is a second warm up drawing which I did drew from the model and and she was doing a yoga position and latter can be used as a model sheet as a guild line to animate a character doing yoga.

Here is a third warm up drawings that I did. As you can see, the model is taking a bow after singing or acting and I could use as reference when I start animating a character doing that gesture.

Here is a drawing of a African American model who was poses with a African hat called an Isicholo which was worn by Zulu tribal chiefs.

Here is the drawing on brown carbon paper which was the same model posing with a cane and wearing a modern hat. I used a white pencil to make the skin look realistic and 3D looking.

Here is the drawing which I did on a brown carbon paper and I captured his real life face and personality and used the white pencil to make it 3-dimentional.

Here is the second hand drawing which I did in my class which I start out with the basic rectangle and cones to form the digits of the finger. Then, I start drawing the model's hand and colored in the nails with black nail polish and made it 3D looking rather than cartoon looking.

Here is a drawing of the foot which I made it look like a real life foot.

Here is the drawing of the model where she is daydreaming while in a sitting pose. The model has bob hairstyle where she looks like Spock from Star Trek.

Here is a drawing which was white on a black paper where I captured that sitting pose.

Here is the drawing of the model where it was in the a landscape portrait where the model is sleeping in her leopard pattern dress.

Here is a frame drawing of the torso which had pectoral muscles and was taken from the Anatomy Book where it looked 3-dimensional.

Here is the linear perspective of where used it as setting of a universe which I choose Star Trek in honor of its 50th anniversary at the time. I start out with the model in different poses which for example, the model was Capt. Kirk commanding the USS enterprise. In the middle is her science officer Spock who was a Vulcan/human hybrid and Uhura is standing in the right. I really captured Nichelle Nichols' face and personality which she played in the sci fi show.

Here is the drawing in a standing pose where the character is talking to the other characters.

Here is the Old master's copy which I did Michelangelo's drawing for the Creation of Adam for the Sistine Chapel which was commissioned by Pope Julius II in 1504. I really captured it from the original drawing which looked like a painting.

Here is the block drawing which was a homework assignment where she looks like a robot with the basic shapes which represents the head, the rib cage, and pelvis. This can be used to draw cartoon characters way easier.

Here is the drawing where the model is pretending to sleep with a pillow, and Cammie corrected the proportions for me, but the teacher gave me advice to draw some sausage links instead of robots.

Finally, here is the drawing that I did yesterday at the Da Center for the Arts. I drew the model sitting on a chair where I have to measure from the head to the knee which I drew an arc, so it can connect to it.
